Description

This is a 17th-century barn with an L-shaped layout, constructed with weatherboarded timber framing and a corrugated asbestos roof. It features wide entrances on opposing sides of each range. The range running parallel to the church has five bays. The interior walls are framed in square panels with wattle holes. Several principal posts appear to be re-used and most feature short straight braces to the tie-beams. The trusses are characterized by tie-beams, collars, and raking struts, while the end trusses have V-struts. One truss, located first from the east, shows stud and wattle holes, indicating it may have been originally enclosed. The adjoining range, at a right angle to the west, also comprises five bays, with square panel framing, though some of the framing has been renewed. Two of the northern trusses use 19th-century bolted queen posts; the remaining trusses have collars, tie-beams, and struts.
