Description

This barn, located about 70 metres north of Hathouse Farmhouse, dates from the late 17th century or early 18th century. It features a timber-frame construction set on a rubble plinth and is weather boarded with a corrugated iron roof. The barn consists of four structural bays, with the threshing floor positioned east of the centre and stabling in the west bay, where the walls are one storey high and made of rubble. The framing includes three square panels in height, and the trusses have intermediate supports with raking struts and a ridge, while the gables are supported by three queen struts and V struts at the apex.
