Description

This barn, located about 30 metres east of New House Farmhouse, dates from the 17th century, with some alterations made in the early 19th century. It features a timber-frame construction set on a coursed rubble plinth. The barn retains some woven infill and is partly covered with weatherboarding, topped with a corrugated iron roof. It consists of five framed bays arranged in an east/west direction, with a central threshing floor. The west gable end has been rebuilt using coursed rubble and includes a segmental headed doorway. The framing consists of three square panels high, and the gable-end truss features a collar with three struts below and one above.
