Description
This is a barn located about 20 metres south of Lodge Farmhouse, dating from the 17th century, with some early 19th century repairs. The barn is constructed of timber with some woven infill and is entirely covered in weatherboarding, standing on a coursed rubble plinth with a slate roof. It is likely composed of five framed bays arranged in an east-west orientation, with a short return wing to the north at the west end. The central area of the three western bays features a threshing floor, with tall double doors on each side. There is an additional 19th century entrance located to the east of the centre, and the plinth progressively rises to the east as the ground slopes down. The framing consists of three square panels high.
