Description

Woodend Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse that was remodeled in the mid-18th century and underwent alterations in the mid-19th century. It features a timber-framed structure with rendered infill, rebuilt in coursed rubble, and has a tile roof. The building has four bays aligned east to west, with a single-bay wing projecting to the north. There are chimney stacks positioned axially on each side of the staircase behind the short wing.

The north front displays the wing projecting to the left of the center. The farmhouse has two storeys and features a window arrangement of one plus one plus two. The two windows on the left are 2-light casements, while the two on the right are 3-light casements. The ground floor of the wing is blind, with a 20th-century casement to the left and two 3-light casements to the right. The entrance at the left-hand corner has a segmental brick head, a 2-pane overlight, and a 17th-century ledged and boarded door. Another entrance, located between two windows to the right, has a lean-to tiled porch with half-glazed sides.

The upper floor of the short wing has exposed framing with two square panels high. The tie-beam is slightly jettied and features an ovolo moulding, with three struts to the collar and two curved struts in the apex. The interior includes chamfered and stopped exposed ceiling beams.
