Description
The Knoll is a house built in the mid-18th century, with some alterations made in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of brick with ashlar dressings and features a hipped slate roof, along with a chimney stack on the east gable end. The south front of the building has two storeys and is topped with a stone-coped parapet and a stone band below. There are three windows: two glazing bar sashes with rubbed brick heads on either side of a French casement that opens onto a balcony. This balcony is supported by stone brackets and has a cast-iron balustrade. The central entrance is flanked by two 16-pane sashes, also under rubbed brick heads. The entrance itself features a pilastered stone doorcase, a fanlight, and a two-leaf panelled door.
