YARPOLE CP BIRCHER SO 46 NE 3/137 Old Home Farmhouse (formerly listed as Home Farmhouse)

Farmhouse. C17, remodelled mid-C18, with some mid-C19 and late C20 restoration. Timber-frame with rendered infill on rubble plinth extended in coursed rubble all with a tile roof. L-plan with limbs to west and north. Central axial stack in west wing has two diamond-plan brick shafts. East front has gabled cross-wing to left, range to right of one storey with attic lit by two gabled dormers, ground floor has a 2-light casement to left and a canted bay to the right. The entrance has a gabled tiled porch. Cross- wing to left of two storeys with gable-lit attic has a 3-light casement over a canted bay window with flat roof. Entrance to right has a gabled porch with a two-leaf C20 outer door. Framing: two square panels high to first floor of cross-wing. Gable end has three struts to collar with V-struts in apex and trenched purlins. (RCHM, 3, p 217, no 27).
