Description
The Mill House is a cottage dating from the 18th century, with later additions from the 19th century. It features a timber-frame structure with brick infill set on a brick plinth, and it has a partially rendered exterior. The roof is covered with plain tiles and there is a central brick chimney stack. The building has two storeys above a cellar and consists of two framed bays with irregular window placements. The ground floor has three 19th-century casement windows, and there is one window to the right of the door in a brick lean-to, which has a full gabled dormer above it. The entrance features a two-panelled late 19th-century door.
Architecturally, the framing includes tall, narrow segmental panels that are two high to the wall-plate, supported by straight tension braces. The left gable truss has three queen struts leading to the collar, with V-struts in the apex.
