Description
Nos 1 and 2 Little London is a house that has been divided into two dwellings. It dates from around 1700, with alterations and additions made around 1800 and in the mid-20th century. The building is timber-framed with brick infill, partly roughcast, and has a plain tiled roof. It features three framed bays aligned east to west and has a large external chimney with tiled offsets at the east gable end. The house is two storeys high.
The framing consists of four panels from the sill to the wall-plate, with only the purlin ends visible at the east gable end. On the south front elevation, there are two ground floor two-light casement windows and three first floor two-light casement windows, along with a central ledged and battened door that has plank weathering.
Inside, the framing appears to be mainly intact. There is a large 20th-century addition at the rear east end, as well as an addition from around 1800 at the west gable end. This addition is a single bay with a west end stack and is two storeys high, featuring a dentilled eaves cornice. The ground floor has a three-light casement window with a cambered head, while the first floor has a pair of two-light casements beneath a cambered head. There is also a gabled timber porch and a ledged and battened door with a cambered head.
