HUDDINGTON CP Nos 1 and 2 Poole Cottages

14.3.69

II House divided into two dwellings. C17 with mid-C19 and mid-C20 alterations. Timber-framed, painted brick and rendered infill on lias limestone rubble and brick base, plain tiled roofs. Three framed bays aligned east/west. Two storeys.

Framing: four rows of panels from sill to wall-plate, long straight braces in some lower corners, collar and tie-beam trusses with two collars, four struts to lower and three to upper collar and V-strut in apex. South front elevation: irregular fenestration; ground floor has one square light, three two-light casements and a rectangular light; first floor has two two-light casements and a three-light wood-mullioned window with leaded lights; two ledged and battened doors, the left door and adjacent windows are set beneath a continuous plank weathering. Two C19 chimneys to rear roof pitch. Interior not inspected. There are three C20 lean-to additions, two to the rear elevation and one at west gable end.
