Description
Bickley House is a farmhouse, now a house, dating from the mid-18th century, with alterations from the mid-19th century and mid-20th century. It is constructed of brick and features a plain tiled roof with parapets at the gable ends and end stacks. The building has two storeys, an attic, and a cellar, with a dentilled eaves cornice. It has five bays, and all openings have cambered heads. The ground floor has plain sash windows, while the first floor features cross-casements. There are three gabled dormers with 2-light casements, and the central entrance has a 20th-century door flanked by a pair of rectangular lights and a shallow fanlight. Inside, the central hall retains its 18th-century open well staircase, which has turned balusters, a moulded handrail, and a panelled dado. There are large 19th-century additions at the rear right, including a single-storey wing that adjoins the inner left side and forms a small rear courtyard.
