Description
Green Cottage is a house dating from around 1600, with alterations and additions made in the mid-20th century. It features a timber frame covered in roughcast, with weatherboarding at the gable ends and a machine-tiled roof. The building consists of two framed bays that are aligned east to west and includes a large external chimney with offsets at the east gable end. It is a single storey with an attic that has dormers. The framing is not visible from the outside, except for the ends of the purlins.
On the south front elevation, there is a three-light casement window on the right and a lean-to on the left with a two-light casement. Above, there is a raking-top dormer that contains a pair of two-light casements. The main entrance is located at the west gable end, which has a 20th-century gabled porch and door. The interior is said to retain much of its original framing, and there is a 20th-century addition at the rear.
