Description
Pembroke Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century and additions in the late 20th century. It features a timber frame with rendered infill set on a rubble base, topped with a plain tiled roof. The structure consists of two framed bays that are aligned roughly east to west, and it has an external brick chimney with offsets located at the east end. The house is a single storey with an attic that includes a dormer.
The framing includes three panels from the sill to the wall-plate, some short straight upper corner braces, and collar and tie-beam trusses with struts. The north front elevation has three 2-light 19th-century casement windows on the ground floor, along with a 20th-century dormer that has a raking top and a 2-light casement. There is also an attic light at the west end and a lean-to outshut in front of the chimney at the east end. At the rear right, there is a large 20th-century wing, which features the main entrance at its gable end.
