Description
Nos 5, 7, and 9 on Cross Street are a row of houses built in the mid-18th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century. They are constructed from handmade brick and feature plain tiled roofs, with a brick stack located to the south and at the rear of the main ridge. The buildings stand three storeys high and have a cogged brick eaves cornice. The row consists of four bays, with ground and first floor openings that have cambered heads. There are two ground floor and four first floor cross-casements, along with four second floor 2-light casements. Nos 5 and 7 each have 19th-century hipped roofed canted bay windows, and No 7 also includes a small rectangular window. No 5 features a four-panelled door and an additional ledged and battened door, while No 7 has a half-glazed door. No 9 has a six-panelled door, with the top two panels being glazed.
