Description
This is a row of two houses, built around 1600 and altered in the mid-19th century and late 20th century. The houses are timber-framed with rendered infill, some replacement brick walling, and a concrete-tiled roof. A brick stack is located at the rear and to the north of the main ridge. The houses are aligned north/south and have four framed bays. The west front elevation features a jettied first floor supported by shaped brackets and a moulded bressummer. At the north end of this elevation, three panels extend from the sill to the jetty, while the remaining framing has been replaced with brickwork. Elsewhere, four rows of panels run from sill to wall-plate. The south end of the house contains a collar and tie-beam truss with four struts beneath the collar and a V-strut above. Ground floor windows have moulded architraves. The ground floor has three sixteen-pane sashes and two four-pane windows, while the first floor has three two-light casements and one four-pane window. The entrance to number 1 has a six-panelled door with a moulded architrave, and a blocked doorway is located immediately to its left. Number 3 has a four-panelled door.
