Description

Greenhill Cottage is a late 17th-century house, with alterations made in the mid-20th century. It is timber-framed with painted brick and rendered infill, and has a concrete-tiled roof raised to the front. The house consists of two framed bays aligned roughly east to west, featuring an external brick chimney with tiled offsets at the west end, and another truncated external brick chimney at the east end. The south front has two ground floor and first floor 2-light casement windows. A central entrance has a half-glazed door. A brick wing extends to the rear right, and a 20th-century lean-to outshut is located to the rear left. The timber framing is visible on the front, showing three and four panels from sill to wall-plate, with collar and tie-beam trusses and struts. A porch was under construction at the time of a survey in May 1987.
