Description
Homeleigh is a house dating from the 17th century, with alterations and additions made in the mid-19th century. It features a timber-framed structure with painted brick and rendered infill, topped by a plain tiled roof. The house has two framed bays oriented east to west and an external chimney with offsets at the west gable end. It is a single storey with an attic that includes dormers. The framing consists of three panels from the sill to the wall-plate and a tie-beam truss with a V-strut at the east gable end.
On the south front elevation, there are two ground floor 2-light casements with plank weatherings, along with two raking-top dormers that also have 2-light casements. The central entrance is sheltered by a lean-to canopy supported by shaped brackets and features a ledged and battened door. Although the interior has not been inspected, it is reported that the framing is mainly intact. There is a 19th-century lean-to addition at the rear and at the east end, which includes a ledged and battened door with a cambered head on its south elevation.
