Description

Carey Villa is a house built around 1840, with alterations made in the mid-20th century. It is constructed of brick and features a tiled roof, with brick end stacks that have tiled offsets. The building has three storeys and is arranged in three bays. The outer bays on the ground floor have canted bay windows topped with slate roofs, while the central bay contains a 16-pane sash window flanked by 8-pane sidelights. The first and second floor outer windows are adorned with moulded architraves that are flush with the wall face. The first floor windows are glazing bar sashes with cambered heads, and the second floor windows are 6-pane sashes. The central windows on the first and second floors are blocked. The central door features a gabled canopy and a part-glazed 20th-century door with a cambered head. The interior has not been inspected. There is a single-storey former wash house attached to the north gable end, along with a 20th-century lean-to extension at the rear.
