Description

The Hollies is an early 19th-century house located on Main Road in Hallow. It is constructed of brick with a slate roof and features brick end stacks. The building stands three storeys high and includes a cellar, with a dentilled eaves cornice. There are three windows, which are glazing bar sashes; the second floor has outer six-pane sashes, while the center window is blind. The windows are topped with gauged brick heads. The central timber door is sheltered by a flat canopy supported by cast iron brackets and has trellis infill.

Inside, the house has remained unaltered since the 19th century and features a dog-leg staircase with turned balusters and a moulded handrail.

To the right side of the house is a former chapel, built of brick with blue and yellow brick dressings, though it is missing its roof. The chapel is rectangular in plan and has a gable end facing the road, which includes a pointed arch window. There is also a doorway at the angle with the house that contains some stained glass panels.
