Description

Wayside Cottage is a mid-19th century cottage featuring a painted brick ground floor and a timber-framed first floor with painted brick and rendered infill, topped by a plain tile roof. The cottage has a two-room plan and is gable-ended to the road, with a large chimney stack. A 20th-century outshut extends across most of the south side, with the entrance located within this outshut. There is one window on each front of the outshut and one window on each storey to the right, all fitted with 20th-century casements. The north elevation has two windows on each floor, also with 20th-century casements and bargeboards. The framing consists of narrow scantling with two square panels high. The cottage is included in the register for its group value only.
