Description

Apple Tree Cottage is a cottage dating from the late 17th century, with some alterations made in the 19th century. It features a timber frame with brick infill set on a rubble and ashlar plinth, topped with a plain tile roof that is hipped to the left. The building has an L-shaped plan, with a kitchen located in the rear limb of the L and two rooms in the other limb. It is 1½ storeys high and has a cellar, with two gabled dormers and three different 19th-century two-light casement windows arranged in three framed bays. One bay is constructed of rubble on the right side, and there is a cellar entrance on the left. The main entrance is located at the rear. The framing consists of three square panels high to the wall-plate, and there is a 20th-century extension at the rear right.
