Description
Meadows Mill House is a late 18th-century miller's house that has been converted into a residence, with mid-19th-century alterations. The building is constructed of brick and features machine-tiled and Welsh slate roofs. It has a mix of three-storey and two-storey sections, with a dentilled eaves cornice.
The three-storey section has two bays, with ground and first floor windows that have cambered heads. The ground floor includes a 16-pane sash window, while the first and second floors have a 16-pane sash and a 12-pane sash, respectively. The main entrance, located to the right, features an open pediment supported by fluted pilasters, a door with six raised and fielded panels, and a traceried fanlight. This entrance is accessed by a flight of three semi-circular sandstone ashlar steps, which are complemented by cast iron railings and wreathed handrails with finials. A brick stack is located at the left end of the ridge.
The two-storey section, which also has two bays, adjoins the three-storey part on the right side. Its ground floor includes a 12-pane sash window and a single-light casement, while the first floor has two 12-pane sashes. There is a five-panelled door to the right of the center. A large stack is situated at the rear center of the ridge. At the back, there is a lean-to and a flat-roofed extension that adjoin the two-storey part. The interior has not been inspected.
