Description
This is a group of three tombs located approximately 10 metres north of the Church of St Faith, dating from the late 18th century and early 19th century. They are made of sandstone. The southwestern tomb chest features a flat moulded top and square baluster corners adorned with fluting and gadrooning. The side panels have fluted borders, and one inscription reads: "Stephen Thackwell ... died ... 1729".
The eastern tomb also has a flat moulded top with scrolled ends, but its inscription was illegible during the survey in June 1986.
The northern tomb is square in shape with re-entrant corners. It has a fluted frieze with paterae, a moulded cornice, and a shaped top with a finial. The sides feature round panels with inscriptions, including the date "1808".
