Description
This is a barn and an adjoining outbuilding located about 25 yards south-east of Lower Town Farmhouse, dating from the early 19th century or possibly earlier. The barn is constructed of coursed dressed rubble with ashlar dressings and features a slate roof with gable-end parapets. It has four bays aligned north to south, with a wagon bay that includes opposed cart entries and double doors in the second bay from the north end. There are two tiers of ventilation slits and a door with a four-centred head on the west elevation. Inside, the roof is supported by intermediate king-post trusses. The adjoining outbuilding to the north-west is timber-framed, weatherboarded, and has a slate roof. It is a single storey with two doors and a through-passage on the south elevation, adjacent to Lower Town Farmhouse.
