Description
Two barns located about 60 metres east of Ham Farmhouse date from the late 17th century and have 19th-century alterations. They are built with a timber frame and wattle infill on a brick plinth, with some parts weatherboarded and a plain tile roof. The barns are arranged in an L-shape.
The North Barn features a hipped roof at the west end, and its south wall has been renewed in 19th-century brick. The framing consists of four structural bays with square panels and straight tension braces. Inside, there are 19th-century stable fittings.
The East Barn has four structural bays and includes opposed cart doors in the bay north of the centre. Its framing also consists of square panels, with intermediate trusses, queen struts, and trenched purlins. The gables feature two collars and V struts at the apex. Inside, the south bay has a first floor.
