Description
Ham Farmhouse is a timber-frame building dating to the 17th century, with alterations from the 18th and 19th centuries. The structure has painted brick infill between the timber frame, set on a brick plinth, and a plain tile roof. A rubble stack is positioned at the left gable, with a detached brick shaft, and another brick stack is at the rear. Originally likely comprising five framed bays, the farmhouse has an irregular arrangement of windows, mostly 19th-century casements. The left gable features a triangular apex design with V struts. A roughly central dormer window, also gabled, was added in the 17th century and has a 19th-century casement. A square bay window on the ground floor is roughly centred. The right gable wall has been refaced with 19th-century timber framing. The timber framing consists of square panels with straight tension braces. A rubble wing to the rear, dating to the 18th century, features ashlar quoins and a timber-framed lean-to extension. Various 19th-century additions are present on the rear of the building.
