Description
The barns located to the south-west of Church Farmhouse are a group of agricultural buildings dating from the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries. They feature a combination of timber-frame construction and weatherboarding set on a sandstone rubble base, with some brick elements and plain tile roofs. The layout consists of two 17th-century barns connected by a 19th-century covered way, creating an L-shaped plan, with additional 18th and 19th-century brick wings to the north. The exterior includes various windows, openings, and entrances, with 19th and 20th-century plank doors and shutters. There are steps leading to a granary, and a range of stock-sheds to the south, forming a complete complex of farm buildings. Inside, the barns boast massive chamfered ceiling beams and stable stalling.
