Description

Church Farmhouse is an early 19th-century farmhouse constructed from brick, featuring a steeply-pitched hipped plain tile roof and two brick ridge stacks. The building has three storeys and a cellar, with a three-window range that includes 6/6 sashes in broad beaded cases under brick segmental arches, and 3/3 sashes on the second floor. The eaves are deep and plastered.

The central porch, built in the late 19th century, is made of brick and timber and has a gabled design. It features half-glazed double doors beneath pierced bargeboards and a finial. Inside the porch, there is a part-glazed six-panel door and a fanlight with glazing bars, all set in a panelled round-headed case. This is topped with a moulded wood open pediment hood supported by consoles with guttae and panelled pilasters.

On the left side of the building, there is a 6/6 sash window, a blocked opening, and a fixed light with old glass, along with 19th-century metal casements and a lattice-glazed light, as well as a 20th-century door and side light. The right side features two 6/6 sashes, a cross-window, and two-light metal casements, along with a brick bay window that has a plain tile pentice roof.

At the rear, there is a wing with a brick end stack, which includes two and four-light casements and a six fielded-panel door beneath a stone flat hood supported by cast-iron brackets.

Inside, the farmhouse features a staircase with stick-balusters and colonette newels, six-panel doors, and a fireplace.
