Description
A house and two shops dating to circa 1800, altered in the mid-20th century. The building is constructed of painted brick with a slate roof and a ridge stack on the left end. It is three storeys high, with a dentilled eaves cornice. The building has four bays, with the two central bays closely spaced. Windows on the two upper floors have cambered heads. The first floor has two four-pane sashes and two twelve-pane sashes. The second floor has four smaller four-pane sashes. The ground floor is occupied by two 19th-century shop fronts, flanked by pilasters with ornately detailed capitals. The shop windows have cast iron mullions, and both shop fronts have glazed 20th-century doors with transom lights. The building is included on the list for its group value.
