Description

This early to mid-19th century house, gallery, and shop is located on Market Street in Tenbury. It is constructed of brick with ashlar dressings and has a partly hipped slate roof and brick stacks. The building is three storeys high and has two bays. All windows feature rusticated lintels and dropped keyblocks. The windows include one ground floor 12-pane sash, and two first floor 12-pane sashes, plus two second floor 9-pane sashes. The ground floor window is flanked by two entrances, each with a moulded flat canopy supported on console brackets, fluted pilasters, and flush panelled jambs and soffit. The doorcase for number 3 has a flush panelled soffit. The doors themselves have four flush panels. The north-east corner is canted and features a first floor 12-pane sash and a second floor 9-pane sash. A 19th-century shop front, simply detailed, extends around part of the north front and east side of the building. The shop front has a central doorway with half-glazed double doors and a transom light with margin-light glazing bars. The east side elevation features a 12-pane sash on the ground and first floors, and a 9-pane sash on the second floor. A ground floor oriel window is visible on the rear elevation.
