Description
This is a cottage belonging to Mrs. Warton, located about 10 yards west of Ivy Cottage. It dates from the early 18th century and has undergone alterations in the mid-19th century and mid-20th century. The building is constructed of brick, partly rough-cast, and features a plain tiled roof. It is a single storey with an attic and has half-dormers, along with a dentilled eaves cornice. The cottage has two bays, with two ground floor 2-light 19th-century casement windows that have cambered heads. There are also two gabled half-dormers with 2-light casements and a ledged and battened door with a cambered head located to the left of the right bay. At the east gable end, some old roof timbers are visible beneath the roughcast, suggesting possible timber-framing. Interior access is not possible. There are 20th-century lean-to additions at the left gable end. The building is situated next to Ivy Cottage and was part of the Amphlett estate. Moor Cottage, which adjoins the right gable end, has been altered in the late 20th century and is considered to have no architectural interest.
