Description
Clent House Farmhouse is a farmhouse, now a house, dated 1760 with alterations made in the mid-19th century and mid-20th century. It is constructed of brick and features a slate roof with end stacks. The building has two storeys and an attic with dormers, a chamfered plinth, and a dentilled eaves cornice. It has five bays, with the central bay being wider than the outer bays. The windows all have rusticated lintels, large moulded keyblocks, and are cross-casements. There are three gabled dormers with moulded bargeboards and 2-light casements. The central entrance features a moulded flat canopy supported by shaped brackets, a partly-glazed 20th-century door, and a transom light with latticed glazing bars. Above the central first-floor window is a datestone inscribed "A/ WW/ 1760". The attic lights are located in the gable ends. The interior retains its open well staircase, which has turned balusters and a moulded, wreathed handrail. This building was originally the home farmhouse to Clent House, which has since been demolished, and it belonged to the Amphlett family.
