Description
79 Wellington Road is a Grade II listed villa built between 1830 and 1840, similar to the adjoining No. 78 but likely constructed slightly later. This two-storey, three-bay building features a stucco façade and a half-hipped slate roof with flat eaves. The first floor has revealed four 4-pane sash windows flanking a central three 4-pane sash window. The original ground floor window on the left is set within an architrave surround. The doorway and the right-hand canted bay window were added around 1840-1850, along with the corresponding features at No. 78. The doorway includes glazing bar sash lights and an entablature supported by pilasters, leading to a double four-panel door topped with a rectangular fanlight. There is also a screen wall gig house on the north side of the villa.
