Description

This building, comprising a shop with a flat above, was built around 1818-1836 and has undergone later alterations, including a late 19th-century shop front. It is constructed of painted brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with a painted stucco plinth, and has a Welsh slate roof.

The building is two storeys high, with two windows on the first floor. The first floor features two 2/2 sash windows, and a tripartite window with 3/3 sashes surrounded by 1/1 sashes. All first-floor windows have rusticated flat arches with raised keystones and sills. On the ground floor, there are entrances, two steps leading to a recessed off-centre entrance with a partly glazed door within the shop front. The shop front includes a plinth, two 20-pane windows, Tuscan pilasters, a continuous overlight with diamond-paned glazing, a frieze, and a cornice. A separate entrance to No. 2A is on the left, with three steps leading to a recessed panelled door within panelled reveals and an architrave of plain pilaster strips with a cornice. The interior of the building has not been inspected.
