Description

Kismet is a cottage located on Stratford Road in Wootton Wawen. It is probably from the 17th century, with an extension added to the left around 1960 to 1980, connected by a 19th-century outshut. The cottage is likely constructed of mud and cob, finished with colourwash, and features timber-framing on the gable end. It has a thatched roof with a brick stack, while the rear outshut is made of brick and has a Welsh slate roof.

The cottage is a single storey with an attic and consists of a single cell. The entrance to the extension has double glazed doors. The original cottage has two windows with lead cames and a left external stack. There is a casement window on the right gable end.

Inside, the cottage features a chamfered beam and exposed rafters. It has an inglenook fireplace with a bressumer beam and a bread oven. The first floor includes one tier of purlins and exposed rafters with wind braces.
