Description

Fisher's Hair Studio is a house that has been partly converted into a shop, dating from the 17th century with later alterations. It is constructed from lias limestone and features a lined stucco facade, topped with a gabled old tile roof and brick stacks at both ends and the rear. The building has a two-unit cross-wing plan.

The exterior is two storeys high and presents a three-window range, with an asymmetrical gable at the left end. There is a plat band above the ground floor. The entrance, located to the right of centre, features a doorcase with pilasters, a frieze, and a bracketed open pediment above a six flush-panel door. The ground floor windows have flat arches with key blocks; the left window has plate glass, while the right has an eight-over-eight horned sash. On the first floor, there are two windows with two-light small-paned casements.

To the left, a gabled wing includes a large early 20th-century canted shop front, which has a cornice and a hipped roof over four-light windows flanking an entrance with an overlight featuring decorative glazing bars above paired half-glazed doors. Above this shop front, there is a window with an eight-over-eight sash. The right return of the building shows exposed stone, and there are rear gabled wings.

Inside the shop, some beams are exposed.
