Description
Claridge's is a house that has been converted into a shop, dating from the 17th century with later alterations. It is built of coursed limestone rubble with a stucco front. The roof is gabled and covered with 20th-century tiles, featuring a brick stack at the ridge end. The building has a two-unit plan and stands two storeys tall, with a two-window range. The upper floor has 20th-century two-light casements, while the ground floor features 20th-century shop windows and a door, with a plank door located to the left. At the rear, there is a one-storey service room that includes a 17th-century corbelled-out stone stack finished in brick. Inside, there are deeply-chamfered 17th-century beams, although only partial inspection of the interior has been conducted. The building is included for its group value.
