Description

A house, dating to the late 17th or early 18th century, and subsequently altered, now serves as a shop and dwelling. The construction is of coursed limestone rubble, topped by a gabled concrete roof and featuring an end stack finished in brick. The building follows a 2-unit through-passage plan and rises two storeys with an attic, presenting a three-window front. A C19 six-panelled door, with two panes of glass, is set within a moulded and reeded wood architrave with a bracketed flat hood. A timber lintel covers a C19 window with glazing bars on the left side; a C19 cornice and pilasters frame a C20 window to the right. Timber lintels top late 17th/early 18th century cross windows with C19 casements on the first floor, while a gabled roof dormer contains a C20 two-light casement. The interior features chamfered beams.
