Description

Appletree Cottage and Vine Cottage are two houses dating to approximately 1700, with later alterations. The houses are of a simple, square design. The right side and central portion feature timber framing with brick infill, while the left side is entirely brick. The roof is covered in plain tiles, with the left gable tile-hung. The houses are arranged around a two-unit plan.

The exterior is single-storey with attics, displaying a five-window range. Two entrances, one off-centre and the other to the right, have plank doors set within moulded wooden surrounds. The ground floor windows are casements with glazing bars, set in moulded wooden frames and featuring elliptical arches above. Three gabled dormers with metal casements and glazing bars light the attic space. The property has stacks located on the left, ridge, and right end.

The interior of the houses has not been inspected.

Appletree Cottage and Vine Cottage form a group with Elmdene and Wood Lane Farmhouse.
