Description

Rose Cottage and Wakeley Cottage are two houses dating from the 17th century, with later additions and alterations. They are timber-framed with painted brick infill, featuring a gabled plain-tile roof and brick internal stacks. The houses have a long rectangular plan.

The exterior is two storeys high, with a seven-window range. The right-hand side has a 20th-century plank door within a wooden frame, and a similar entrance is found on the left return. The ground floor windows comprise a four-light casement, a canted bay window, a gabled two-storey canted bay window, another bay window, a four-light casement, and three 20th-century casement windows. The first floor has casement windows throughout, with a half-dormer to the left.

The interior was not inspected.

Rose Cottage and Wakeley Cottage combine to form a group of listed buildings along The Green.
