Description

Two houses, dating from the 17th century with later alterations and an addition to the right. The houses are timber-framed with painted reddish-brown brick infill and a gabled plain-tile roof. They are two storeys with an attic, presenting a five-window front. There are two off-centre entrances. To the left is a four-panel door within a moulded wooden door frame, with an overlight, flanked by two canted bay windows, all sheltered by a pentice roof. To the right is a six-panel door in a moulded wood door frame, with a hood above. To the left of the right-hand door is a canted bay window containing a three-light mullion and transom window with leaded glazing bars. On the first floor, from left to right, are two-light, three-light, two-light, three-light, and two-light casement windows, also with lead cames. There are stacks with cornices located at the right end and off-centre on the left. The interior was not inspected. Oxstall House and Arden House, together with other listed buildings on The Green, form a group of buildings of group value.
