Description

Scrooby's is a house dating from around 1700, with 19th and 20th-century alterations. It is constructed of painted brick, featuring a partly timber-framed attic, pinkish-brown brick stacks, and a plain-tile roof. The building has an L-shaped plan and is single storey with an attic, presenting a two-window range on each arm.

The entrance to the right part of the house features a plank door set in a moulded wood frame beneath an elliptical arch. To the right, there is a canted bay window with 20th-century wooden casements that include glazing bars, and to the left, a 2-light, 20th-century wooden casement also under an elliptical arch. The attic contains a small 2-light 20th-century casement with glazing bars, while the left part has a blocked window. The right gable displays some small timber-framing, and the roof has a half-hipped design on this side, with a gabled roof on the remainder. Tall internal stacks with cornices are present.

On the right return, there are two casement windows under elliptical arches. The rear features an outshut beneath a catslide roof. Inside, the house is reputed to have chamfered beams and a fireplace with a chamfered bressumer, along with plank doors fitted with wrought-iron latches.
