Description
Tudor Cottage is a house located on Snitterfield Road in Bearley. It dates back to the 17th century, with later additions and alterations. The building is timber-framed with painted brick nogging, a plain-tile roof, and a cast-iron porch. It has an L-shaped plan with an additional extension at the rear left and features a 2-unit layout in the front range.
The exterior consists of two storeys and a three-window range, with a brick plinth and small, square panels of timber-framing. The entrance is positioned off-centre to the right and features a plank door with a moulded wood surround, situated behind a latticed porch between two 5/10 sash windows with horns. On the first floor, there are three wood casements with glazing bars. The left gable head displays timber-framing, and there is additional small timber-framing on the rear right wing. The roof is steeply pitched and gabled, with end stacks.
Inside, the cottage has exposed rafters. Tudor Cottage is part of a group with Bearley Manor and Manor Cottage, and it also shares group value with the Church of St Mary on Church Lane.
