Description
Vicarage Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, with later alterations. It features a timber-frame construction with painted brick infill set on a partly rendered stone plinth. The roof is steeply pitched and covered with renewed tiles, topped by a large brick chimney at the rear of the ridge. The building has a two-unit plan and is a single storey plus attic.
The exterior includes a two-window range. On the ground floor, there is a square window where a former entrance has been blocked on the left end, along with blocked two-light windows and a wall letter box to the left of centre. To the right of centre, there is a tall window with a shutter and small-paned glazing, accompanied by a small square light. The two gabled dormers have casement windows, with the left dormer featuring leaded glazing and crown glass. The framing on the front displays three panels high, altered at the left end.
The right side of the cottage has a high plinth with a window on each floor and a plastered gable head. The rear features a brick wall that incorporates part of a wall post, with a narrow strip of framing at the top. There is an entrance on the right end with a six-fielded-panel door, along with two ground-floor windows, one of which is segmental-headed at the left end. A gabled dormer is located at the right end. The interior has not been inspected.
