Description
Drakes Cottage is a house located on Church Lane in Welford-on-Avon. It dates back to the 17th century and has undergone some later alterations. The building features a timber frame with plastered infill set on a plastered rubble plinth, topped with a thatched roof that is half-hipped at one end and has a brick stack at the rear of the ridge.
The exterior is two storeys high and has a two-window range. The entrance, situated to the right of the centre, features a 20th-century battened door. The windows are 20th-century casements with three lights. The square framing of the house includes one brace to the wall plate, and the stack has two shafts. The right side of the cottage is attached to Box Tree Cottage. The interior has not been inspected.
