Description
Greenbank Cottage is a house located on Church Street in Welford-on-Avon. It dates from the 17th century and has undergone later alterations. The building features a timber frame with rendered brick infill set on a rubble plinth, along with a coursed rubble projection. It has a steeply pitched machine tile roof, which includes a brick stack at the front of the ridge and an end stack. The cottage is designed in an L-plan.
The exterior consists of a single storey plus an attic and has a three-window range. The entrance is positioned to the right of the center and features a 20th-century gabled porch with paired glazed doors. This entrance is flanked by windows that include a three-light and a two-light leaded casement, both with plank shutters. To the left end of the building, there is a small leaded light next to a catslide projection, which may have been used for an oven or stair. On the first floor, there is a small leaded light to the right of the porch, along with two early 20th-century gabled dormers that each have three-light leaded casements. At the rear, there is a higher wing. The interior has not been inspected.
