Description
Wincote is a house dating from the 17th century, with later alterations. It features a timber frame with painted plaster infill and a plinth, along with some brick at one end. The roof is steeply pitched, half-hipped, thatched on one side, and tiled on the left, with brick stacks at the rear and front of the ridge. The house has a two-unit plan and is a single storey plus attic, with a two-window range.
The entrance is located at the left end and has a renewed plank door set in a moulded wood frame. The ground floor includes windows with 2-light casements that have leaded glazing, with crown glass on the left side, iron opening casements, and wrought-iron casement fasteners. There is an eyebrow dormer on the right with a small 3-light casement, partly featuring leaded glazing. The exterior displays square framing with bracing.
On the left side, there is a 2-light window above a single-storey extension that has a casement and a tiled roof, with a gable featuring a shuttered square opening above a 20th-century porch that connects Wincote with Tenpenny. The right side of the house adjoins The Cottage. The interior has not been inspected.
