Description

These are two houses, dating to the 17th century with later alterations. They are timber-framed with plaster infill, built on a rubble plinth, and have a half-hipped thatched roof. The roof features a brick stack on the front ridge, another on the rear ridge, and an end stack. The houses have a 3-unit plan with an outshut at the right end.

The exterior is single-storey with an attic, featuring a 5-window front. Three entrances – two in the centre and one at the left end – have heavy frames and plank doors. The door to the left of centre is a 2-panel door. The ground-floor windows are mostly 2-light and 3-light leaded casements with iron opening casements on the left side, and 3-light and 2-light small-paned casements on the right. The outshut has a small square 2-light casement; wrought-iron casement fasteners are present. The attic has two gabled dormers with 2-light casements, some of which have leaded glazing. The right return has a projecting stack with offsets. The rear includes a bay window under a lean-to roof, three eyebrow dormers, and a single-storey wing with a pantile roof. The interior was not inspected.
