Description
The Cottage is a house dating back to the 17th century, which was restored in the early 20th century. It is timber-framed with painted brick infill and has a steeply pitched thatched roof. A brick stack is located on the ridge towards the front of the house, and there's an end stack as well. The house has a 2-unit plan.
The exterior is single-storey with an attic and has a 2-window front. The ground floor has 2 bay windows with hipped tile roofs, each containing 1:3:1-light leaded casement windows, likely dating to the 20th century. The first floor has two gabled dormers with matching 2-light casement windows. The timber framing includes storey-height studs.
The right return side has a large external brick stack with offsets. The entrance has a 20th-century door, and there is a 3-light casement window on the first floor. The interior was not inspected.
