Description
Box Tree Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, with restorations and extensions added in the 20th century. It features a timber frame with painted plaster infill set on a rubble plinth, and has a machine tile roof with a brick stack at the front ridge and an end stack. The building has a two-unit plan and is a single storey with an attic.
On the exterior, there is a 20th-century gabled porch to the right of the center, which has a split door. The ground floor includes a large window and a smaller window, while the first floor features a gabled half-dormer with a window, all fitted with 20th-century small-paned casements. The left end of the cottage showcases square framing with plaster. The right side is plastered and includes a projecting stack with an offset, as well as exposed wall studs and a tie beam. The rear of the cottage has a large flat-roofed 20th-century wing. The interior has not been inspected.
